Spray Gun Adjustments

Ever wonder what those knobs on your spray gun knobs are for? Learn
how your spray gun works and how to make it work for you. The class
is online, work on it in your shop, on your schedule. You will learn
to make and evaluate a standardized spray gun test pattern. You will
see how to prevent dry spray and orange peel. You can earn a
certificate in Spray Gun Adjustment from Carl Sandburg College. If
you prefer, just read the information and not work towards a
certificate. More detailed course information is below.
Spray Gun
Adjustments
The purpose of this hybrid educational program is to teach you how
to perfect all components of atomization to tune your spray gun for
optimal paint application in any situation. A hybrid course is a
combination of Internet based and hands on learning. This course
teaches you four components of proper spray gun set up:
atomization, air, paint and spray gun settings. You will read
through a series of online screens (containing videos, photos and
drawings as well as text) and then perform a series of hands on
activities. During the activities you will complete an exercise
sheet and spray gun test patterns. You can fax the completed
exercise sheet and your best spray gun test pattern to me for
evaluation. Submission of the properly completed exercise sheet and
test pattern earns you a certificate in Spray Gun Adjustment from
Carl Sandburg College. Your total time spent on the course will be
approximately 2 to 4 hours. This course is geared toward body shop
employees but anyone with an interest in spraying paint can profit
from this course.
