'70 Mach 1 Project

 

The students have
installed new doors.

Ryan is repairing
the fender.

   
   

 Jim is drilling out the spot
welds on the cowl panel.

These braces are removed first
when removing the cowl panel.

   
   

This panel under the cowl
panel often rusts.

The replacement panel has
considerable rust.

   
   

The cowl parts are epoxy primed before welding.

The right quarter panel
had an oil can.

   
   

Some of the panels
are test-fitted.

Scott drilled the spot welds out
of the rear body panel.

   
   

The rear body panel
has been removed.

 

Scott is welding the rear
frame rail.

   
   

The quarter panel has several
layers of bondo.

The bolt on parts have been
trimmed.

   
   

Brandon and Kyle are masking.

The Mach 1 is primed.

trimmed.

The rear body is trimmed.
 

   
   

Brandon is prepping
for paint.

The Mach 1 is in the
spray booth.

   
   

The basecoat had to be sanded to eliminate surface defects.

The students are spraying  basecoat. This car was base coated 3 times.

   
   

The clear coat looks good.
